Halloween here at Rowan is not just a one day holiday. There are events taking place all week, helping to build up the anticipation for everyone’s favorite holiday. To start off the week, on Sunday, October 26th, as mentioned in one of my past entries, there will be a bus trip to Springdale Farm in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. On this trip, for only five dollars, from 2:30 until 5:30, students will be able to go onto the farm and pick pumpkins. When students return back to Rowan, in the Student Center hallway, there will be a complimentary pumpkin carve, in which students will be able to carve and decorate the pumpkin that they have just picked.
The following day, on Monday, October 27th, for no charge at all, you can make caramel apples from 11:00am until 3:00pm, in the Student Center Hallway. Free caramel apples? Sounds like a bargain to me. Following the caramel apples, starting at 6:30 in the Student Center Hallway, once again for no charge at all, there will be a pie eating contest. Participants must sign up one half hour before the contest begins, and there will be prizes awarded to the winners. All you can eat pie for free… it’s almost guaranteed to be a great time.
On Wednesday, October 29th, in the Student Center Ballroom, “The Dark Knight”, which was easily the biggest and best movie of the summer, will be playing, for only 50 cents. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you literally have to go. It was honestly one of the best movies that I’ve ever seen, along with the single best acting job I’ve ever seen, with Heath Ledger playing the role of The Joker. For only 50 cents as well, this event is a must.
On Thursday and Friday, RAH (Rowan After Hours) will take over. They are hosting a Costume contest on Thursday evening, and a Halloween ceremony on Friday. With RAH, it’s bound to be a good time. All of the following RAH information can be found here.
I hope this will help your “Halloweek” to be a good one.
Happy Halloween
