Although December is going to be a short month for Rowan students, considering break starts the fourth week into the month, there are still three bus trips that are all worth going on.
The first of the trips takes place on Saturday, December 6th, and will be a trip headed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to see a live performance of “Legally Blonde”. The show will be held at Philadelphia’s Forrest Theatre, and will cost $30. The cost includes transportation and admission to the show. The trip will take place from 12:00pm until 6:30pm. Definately a good idea for anyone who’s a fan of the movie, or just live performances in general.
The second trip takes place on Sunday, December 7th, and is a trip to Longwood Gardens, which is located in Kennet Square, Pennsylvania. Longwood Gardens is a huge garden consiting of light shows, christmas trees, and gorgeous scenery in every direction. The trip takes place from 3pm until 6pm, and only costs ten dollars. Definately a great way to set the mood for the upcoming holidays.
The third trip takes place on Sunday, December 14th, and is a shuttle bus to Deptford, New Jersey. Here, students will be able to spend the day at the Deptford Mall, eat at one of many restaurants, or check out many other stores nearby, all for no cost at all. Good idea for anyone who feels the need to get away from campus for an afternoon.
Enjoy.

Although there are only three bus trips in the month of November, as opposed to the four in the month of October, they are all very good deals. The first bus trip of the month takes place on Sunday, November 2nd. For $40, students will have the opportunity to go to New York City to see the classic “The Little Mermaid” on Broadway. The $40 dollars includes transportation and ticket prices. The busses will leave Rowan at 10:30am and students will return at approximately 8:30pm. Definately something to keep in mind for Broadway/Disney lovers.
The Second trip of the month takes place on Sunday, November 16th. For $10, students are able to go to “City of Brotherly Love, ” Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The trip takes students to the newly built U.S. Constitution Center for a self-guided tour through the new museum. The ticket price of $10 includes transportation, admission into the museum, and a free lunch. I’ve been here one time and I highly recommend going if you find yourself nothing to do on a cold Autumn Sunday afternoon.
The Third and final trip of the month takes place on Saturday, November 22nd. For only five dollars, students will have the opportunity to spend the day in New York City on a shopping day. The trip takes place from 10:30am until 9:00pm. Ticket prices include transportation only. Only five dollars to spend the day in New York City? That’s a bargain considering that it would probably cost you about ten times that to drive there, with the cost of gas. Guarunteed to be a good time, considering there’s always something to do in NYC. I hope this helped out students who feel the need to get away from campus for a day.

There are four bus trips this month sponsored by Rowan University. The first trip is on October 4th, and is one in which I mentioned in my last post. This is a day trip to Washington DC, and will take place from 9:30am until 9:00pm, and costs only $5. Getting to explore the nations capital all day for only $5 is what they call a bargain where I come from. The next bus trip is the following day, October 5th. This trip takes Rowan students about 10 minutes north to Deptford, NJ. It’s a four hour trip, lasting from 11am until 3pm. In these four hours, students will have plenty to do. In Deptford, there’s the rather large Deptford Mall, Best Buy, and plenty of nice restaurants, including my favorite restaurant, the Bonefish Grill. This is definately a great way to get out of Glassboro for a few hours and enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon off-campus. Only six days later, students will be given the opportunity to go to the “Creamy Acres Night of Terror”, which is a haunted house/hayride located a little south of Rowan’s campus in Mullica Hill. The cost of the trip is only 15 dollars and lasts from 7:30pm until 10:30pm. I used to work at a haunted house/hayride, but when I visited Creamy Acres last fall, it was much scarier than the farm that I had worked at during high school. They had four different attractions last fall when I visited, and this year they have added two more, making six bone-chilling attractions that’ll take your breath away. I highly recommend that anyone who’s a fan of haunted houses go see to this. It’s definately an incredible adventure. Last but not least, in the final full weekend of October, on Sunday, the 26th, for only five dollars, there will be a bus trip to Cherry Hill, NJ, to pick pumpkins, and enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon relaxing on a pumpkin farm. The trip will take place from 2:30 pm until 5:30 pm. When returning back from the trip, at 6pm, there will be a complimentary pumpkin carve in the student center hallway. I hope this will help students who don’t have an automobile around campus to enjoy the month of October a little bit more than they would have without these fine bus trips provided by the university.
C-ya soon.

As all of you already know, October has come very quick, which unfortunately comes with cold weather and a lot of leaves everywhere. Not to worry though, because this first weekend of October should be a fantastic one for Rowan students. On Saturday, October 4th, we have what some would refer to as a “Double Whammy”. You can either take a day trip to Washington DC for only $5.00, or you can hang around campus and see the band “Jounce” in the Student Center Pit, for no cost at all. Jounce is a very interesting band for one reason and one reason only. Former Nickelodeon child star Dan (previously known as Danny) Tamberelli is a member of the band. I’m pretty sure every student on Rowan’s campus remembers his work from the hit Nickelodeon television shows “All That”, “Figure It Out”, and “The Adventures of Pete and Pete”. Dan plays the bass guitar for the band, and also chimes in with vocals. It should be a blast seeing him play live music, right here at Rowan. I highly recommend that anyone who was as big of a Nickelodeon fan as I was when I was a little kid, to go see this show. There’s no way anybody will leave disappointed. It’s Danny Tamberelli for crying out loud!
I sincerely thank you for your time.
